Welcome to the Blinside of Reality. This place is fairly new and always changing, as reality itself always is.
Who's the mind behind the BlindSide you might ask(or you might not give a sh*t, but here goes anyway.) Though my page is fairly new
the man behind it has "graced" the net for 6 years using such names as keebler, Mr. cricket, Biggles and Kalibur. Now people know me as The
Unknown MADMAN in the havens or Ken Walker in reality, but I've been called worse (some of which shouldn't be repeated in the presence of small children).
I spend most of my time on the internet on chatlines known as "havens", surfing the web or occaisionally hitting my favorite MUDs or MUSHes. But you can always find me
on "Timeless"(telnet://hemi.com:6776) a haven me and my good friend buffy started some years ago.
On a more personal note I'm 21 years old, and a soldier in the US Army. I work in the computer and networking branch of the signal corps and really love what I do. Only problem
with my job might be where it has taken me: Camp Walker, Taegu, South Korea. I'll be "stuck" here 'til Sept of '98 and boy am I looking forward to getting stateside again. Sure South Korea is an exciting place to visit, see the sights and be a tourist in, but trust me, I wouldn't want to live here. The shopping and food is great though. There is nothing quite like some jop chae bop or kim-chi when your hungry. I may be a beanpole, the very definition of skinny, but I eat like a horse, both my wife and mother can attest to this fact. Speaking of food my favorites have got to be Italian, pastas especially, and a good Burger King Broiler or Big Fish. I may be Irish, but I'd kill for a good plate of Spaghetti or homemade lasagna. I'm a regular Garfield at heart, thought skinnier, a bit taller and not quite as orange, the resemblance seems to stop at food preference.
I was born on September 23, 1976 and grew to become a 5'9", brown haired, brown eyed, 140 pound jack of all trades. Along with knowing my way around a computer fairly well I am avid in physical fitness, I love sports of any type, I can sing fairly well(so I've been told, but I tend to doubt their very biased opinion), and I love to write, thought non-fiction is not my forte' as you can probably tell. I also love to read, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Patterson, Robin Cook, and Tami Hoag are among some of my favorites along with the classics such as Poe, Shakespeare and J.D. Salinger. My favorite novels are by far Stephen King's "IT" and J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye", both of which I've read numerous times. Although my taste in literature is limited, my taste in music however covers the horizon. I listen to country, rock, R&B, classical, (some) easy listening, showtoons, jazz, you name it. The only type of music I really don't care for is hardcore rap. My opinion about hardcore rap is: If I wanted to hear vulgar language, racial slurs, threats to people's lives, gunshots and loud, obnoxious beats, I'd simply move downton to any major city. The fact I live where I do should make it obvious my choice. If I did have an urge to listen to such music I'd simply let me little sister bang incoherently on a bass guitar while Dan Rather talks about the current gang fights in L.A., I'd get more out of it, and it would have immensely more talent than some of the current "hot" rap artists.
The Unknown MADMAN isn't always at home reading, writing or "bitching" about rap. I also play a mean game of racquetball, love to play basketball(though i'm still not very good), and a good brisk 2 or 3 mile run is always fun. I wrestled in middle school and high school and ran track my senior year and now after graduating in May, 1995 from Los Lunas High School(GO TIGERS!) the army still keeps me fit and busy, tho I enjoy it ;). Speaking of Los Lunas, that's where I call home. Los Lunas, New Mexico where my little sister Sarah, my mom, my best friend Douglass (Henry) Drew and of course my wife, of almost one year, Tonia, call home. My mom runs a daycare in her home, "Donna's DayCare" *shameless plug to earn my mom business*. My little sister is in 2nd grade right now and by her own mouth, says she loves it. Doug's been my best friend since I moved to Los Lunas and although we're totally opposite each other we get along perfectly, and not to mention his Girlfriend is a knockout ;) and sweeter than honey topped sugar. My wife Tonia is taking some childcare classes so she can be daycare certified. She has an almost uncanny knack with kids, and no we have non of our own*sigh of relief*.
I enjoy going to a good movie (Titanic, Flubber, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation), hanging with friends, or partying as much as the next guy. I love traveling, driving especially and have been from North Carolina to California and from San Antonio, Texas to Montana and I have so many more places yet to visit ;). I love nature, a good hike and a weekend of camping are the best cure for anything that ails me. Tho a quiet night alone with the woman I love is just as healing ;), if not mroe so. I'm sure there's much more but I won't bore you any further with my pointless babble and ever-continuous drivel.
As for my aspirations I'm hoping to become a SGT within the next 3 years, I want to get my bachelor's (at least) in computer Science while in the Army and I want kids (1 or 2, more would likely bring me to an early grave). Though the kid part can wait for a good log while still ;). That's where I want to be and to go, though if you ask others they might respond with "to hell" without the blinking of an eye. I consider myself a nice guy, but hey, even the nicest of folks have their moments. ;D If you wanna talk, bug, annoy, chat, hear some more pointless facts about me or just want to get ahold of me for any old reason email me at [email protected], mail me on the havens or find me on the havens. Oh, and btw, cheesepuffs rool!
Alright then, now for the pictures you say? OKOK, I'll oblige, however grudgingly. Just click here.
